Family Cottage Succession Planning – Approximately 80% of cottage/vacation home owners plan to pass on the property to their children.  The goal of cottage succession planning is to set up legal ground rules that provide the best chance to keep family property in the family for future generations.  A cottage succession plan will typically address concerns through the creative use of a limited liability company (LLC), a trust, or in some cases a different entity structure or agreement, to own and maintain the property.
